This is a snapshot of Kashmir’s Neelum Valley. I bumped into it while surfing. Yaar, it just gives me goosebumps thinking about it.

Beautiful Valley of Swat

Yes I’m on a roll. I just have a lot to share with myself, and any of you who bumps into this website. This is the Valley of Swat, paradise on earth, which has been devastated by the spates of violence and state terrorism for the past two years. The will of the local people being suppressed, radicalism on the rise due to lawlessness and corruption.

The social and economic injustices led to extreme misery, which in turn has inspired extreme hope, people of the valley have taken up arms and are trying to enforce rule of law ( read Islamic Shariah) on the land and have driven away all the political stooges along with their circuses.

I have only been there twice, I hope the time comes when I can take my family over there without fear, and people of the region can enjoy the peace and harmony along with the same level of tourism that was the lifeline of the Valley.

O’ Allah send peace and blessings on the Valley of Swat.

Pakistan’s Celebrated Sufi / Folk Singer Allan Faqir (1932-2000)

One of my favorite artists Allan Faqir, one of those people I’ve got very high up on the humanity and humility index. The way he could walk into a room full of pseudos and bring the person out of them, good or bad, ugly or beautiful. Sufi by heart, he had one of the most beautiful smiles with his missing teeth, reflecting his innocence and warmheartedness. May Allah bless his soul, sanctify his secret.

You know I have to tell you, I just cant get over this trip. Its left such deep impressions on me that I feel completely changed from inside. But thats not why I’m writing this post. I wanted to tell you something about me.

I’m a very unorganized person with ambition and high hopes. I’m a bit smart so I got away with this non committed attitude during the early years of my life, but since I’ve got a family, I’ve realized that If I don’t organize myself, I’ll end up in a mess so deep, its not even funny.

Already things have started to crack up on me, with everyone around me screaming for attention, pressures of work, studies to carry on with, wife, kids, friends, masjid, halqa, meditation.

I have to step up to the challenges right now, and respond to them by improving myself, I have the resolve, I have my inspirations, but I just HAVE to cut down the time I spend in front of TV and these gadgets I’ve gotten so much used to.

Please pray for me guys, I want to be a better person. I just need to work hard for it consistently, until the good habits become a part of my character.

Just something I’d like to share with you guys..

One of those moments when you’re awestruck by nature, sitting on those rocks, thinking, I have not created all this, nor has it come into being by itself. Its just one of those moments when a thousand doubts and arguments cancel themselves out in your mind. Listening to that ocean breeze, the waves crashing into the rocks, the clouds embracing the horizon, carrying their tears of longing. Subhanallah! My Creator loves me so much!

I’m back again,

Well, lots to say.. but first!

A failure I have to admit to, I had made a commitment to myself of rising early today to go for a swim, but but up watching this Zardari Interview on Geo till late at night and had to pay the price for it in the morning.

I dont know yar, but some how in the past few days I’ve come to realize the full disclosure helps. There’s no need to practice ‘Selective Mutism’ or build pseudo personalities for blog sake. So I decided if I’m gonna do this seriously, like you know, something that does justice to the title ” hafizee’s diary”, I’ll let you guys in on a little bit of detail of how I spend my days. The purpose is not to thrill you or give you cheap excitements, but for my own learning.

I reorganized my tasks and scheduler yesterday, have started using nice gadgets like ‘remember the milk’ and Joe’s Goals. Lets hope I can carry on with it and get that 25th hour in the day and 8th day of the week I’ve been putting off all my work to.

Have fun, I’ll be back soon with another entry.

A new Beginning..

Sorry I could’nt update my blog in the past few weeks. was a bit busy. 

Not to mention also getting sacked in the middle! but have had time to do a lot of soul searching..

so with renewed commitment and a lot of inspiration. I’m starting to blog again.. and from now on.. you’ll probably see a stark difference in my approach..

You see earlier I spent too much time thinking about what to write.. so rather than this being an outlet for anxiety, made me more anxious..

lets hope I dont drive away all my readers.

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem

 

  In the Name of Allah, most Benificial, Most Merciful..

 The Bismillah has a special significance for Muslims, who are to begin each task after reciting the verse. Often, Bismillah is preceded by Ta’awwudh. In Arabic calligraphy, it is the most prevalent motif, more so even than the Shahadah. The three definite nouns of the Bismillah, Allah, ar-Rahman and ar-Rahim correspond to the first three of the traditional 99 names of God in Islam. Both ar-Rahman and ar-Rahim are from the same triliteral root, R-Ḥ-M “to feel sympathy or pity”. According to Lane, ar-raḥmān is more intensive, including in its objects the believer and the unbeliever, and may be rendered as “The Compassionate”, while ar-raḥīm has for its peculiar object the believer, considered as expressive of a constant attribute, and may be rendered as “The Merciful”.

 Thus I start my post with Bismillah. May Allah guide me in writing what is beneficial to myself and others, and prtect me from falling astray or creating Hijabs for others and wasting their time.
